Right now, we have a small construction project going on at the ChurchSalt world headquarters (my house). Being construction ignorant, I have enlisted the help of a friend who has more talent and patience than myself. My friend likes to have the radio on while working, so recently we spent a day listening to political talk […]

Your Deadly Dinner will be out Shortly…
July 29, 2010
What is happening in the above passage? The people of Israel were complaining…again. Not satisfied with having an all powerful God visibly leading them out of slavery and to a promised country of their own (while providing them food and water on the way) they began to complain about what type of food they were being provided. They wanted meat, and they wanted it now….. This kind of self-centered world view is a rejection of the Lord, it is a rebellion against His wisdom and His calling. The passage above states that the Lord agreed to provide their desires, and to send them meat…. The Lord will send judgment on those who refuse to repent, and instead focus on their fleshly desires and wants. And what a frightful judgment it is! To be handed over, given to the desires of your flesh! Whoever serves sin is a slave to sin, and sin is a cruel master.
Follow me

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Matthew 16:24
Wouldn’t you say that this is a profound and powerful call from our Lord to join Him as He rights the world’s wrongs? Is this not His call to join the cause of social justice, to feed starving children and protect the envirnment? Is it not obvious this call is telling us to make a change in our world and leave a mark before we go? No…..no, no, no. Jesus calls us to Himself. We are to follow Him and deny ourselves.
Evidence of Reality… The Rebel
July 25, 2010
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly […]
The Idol of Holiness
July 20, 2010
It is possible for someone to take a valid and Biblical approach to a spiritual exercise, and carry it so far that it distorts and stretches into something altogether unbiblical, even idolatrous. At ChurchSalt, we highly encourage those professing Christ to heed Paul’s warning when he tells us to “examine ourselves as to whether we […]
New Audio Sermon – The Severity of Sin
July 19, 2010
NEW! Another sermon has been added to our page of free audio resources. It is titled “The Severity of Sin” and it is a look at exactly how serious sin really is (it is more serious than you think!) Have you ever asked yourself questions like these: Why do bad things happen to good people? How […]
Be Good but don’t be Backwards!
July 17, 2010
Every one should strive to continually improve, right? Well, yes. But we must be very careful when it comes to improving our actions and behaviors, or our avoidance of sins. Are we trying to improve ourselves and cease sinning because we are trying to be in right standing with God? If this is the case, […]

Who will preach at YOUR funeral??
July 9, 2010
It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. Ecclesiastes 7:2 This may seem like a morbid topic, but if we can take our minds off summer barbecues and […]
The Truth of Conversion
July 5, 2010
I found this absolutely terrific article posted over at “Possessing the Treasure”. It is short, and worthy to be read by all those going by the name “Christian”. Take a look… Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is […]
Beth Moore’s Blurry Hindsight
July 4, 2010
One of the more well-read posts here at ChurchSalt was a recent post regarding Beth Moore (click HERE to read). From that article and others I have found that it is an extremely unpopular thing to question the teachings of nice people. Rick Warren is a nice guy, why would I scrutinize his teachings so much? Joel Osteen […]
