Bold & Truthful Poetry

I am not usually a fan of poetry.  Not that I condemn it, it’s just that personally it doesn’t usually appeal to me.  This particular poem, however, I like.  Bold and unashamed, the poet lays bare the fact that her Christianity was no Christianity at all.  She confesses to the darkness that surrounded her soul while all the while attending church,  singing and praising God louder than everybody else and energetically speaking in tongues.  Now her eyes are open and her tongue is loosed!  Bold and truthful poetry like this just might make me start listening to more poems!!
