To read Is “Enmity” the Problem?? Pt. 1 please click HERE
Once again, I am confused. As already discussed previously, James 4:4 is an extremely clear verse
Ye adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world maketh himself an enemy of God.
And yet so many (a whole bunch, a lot, multitudes) of churches and professing Christians are not only striving to be friends with the world, they are downright fawning over it! This video (see below) is a perfect example of professing Christians who know better than God. They know the “truth”, that to reach the lost you have to imitate them, and strive to be one of them. They feel that “putting on a show” is absolutely fine, because it is “just a show”. Again I must ask, what part of the word “enmity” doesn’t anyone understand? Is it not clear that God has declared the friend of the World to be His enemy? Not just someone He is disappointed with, but His enemy!! Now there will be those who will argue. Those who look with disdain on folks like me who are “uptight legalists”, and will go on their way to have some more fun. But the fact remains, in black print on white paper the very words of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says this, “Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world maketh himself an enemy of God.” Please keep in mind that these are God’s words (not mine) as you watch this video:
Before you leave any comments condemning me for being such a un-cool, irrelevant legalist, please read once more the Words of your Creator: “Ye adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world maketh himself an enemy of God.” Please pray about what these words actually mean (and I mean actually pray, not just pull out a pre-formed opinion and begin defending it). There is absolutely nothing legalistic about this passage, or any passage involving salvation through Jesus Christ. These folks (who are probably really nice people) can be saved by our Lord. Repentance and the forgiveness of sins in Jesus name is the message that is to be preached to all. Forgiveness of even this (blaspheming the name of Christ before a national audience) is available for those who come to Him in repentance and contrite heart. Separating yourself from the World will by no means save you. But once you are saved, the Holy Spirit living inside you will separate you from the World. How could it be any different? And why would you want it to be?

this is totally not acceptable!!! we have been commanded to renew our mind our spirit even our strength to give glory to only ONE God and not to any man… hopefully somebody from his church… from the elders… from his family had rebuked this pastor… may he not be imitated, in Jesus’ name.

Unfortunately, I saw an interview with the folks putting this on, and they are quite proud of their handiwork! In their mind, it brings in crowds, so that means it works, and if something works that means it is good. It didn’t appear as though they had given any thought whatsoever on whether or not it was Godly. Truly pragmatism has replaced holiness in modern “christianity”. What has happened to fear of the Lord?
Thanks for stopping by, Ana!
